The county recognizes the potential danger of increased truck traffic in rural parts of the county. The intersection of SR136 and Nucor Road has been identified as an extremely dangerous intersection given the curve and elevation that drastically reduce visibility for drivers and force trucks to stop on a hill.
To increase safety, the county is studying a solution where an overpass will be installed over SR136 to prevent collisions between oncoming vehicles and drivers turning nearly blind onto SR136.
Lochmueller Group has completed surveying and geotechnical analysis of the site. Construction will begin once funding for the project has been secured.
