Montgomery County Regional Sewer District (District) provides wastewater treatment to the unincorporated areas of Montgomery County outside of Crawfordsville. The District operates a wastewater treatment plant that has a current average daily flow capacity of 100k gallons per day.
As the number of residential and commercial sewer users increases with economic development, there is a need for more treatment capacity. The RDC and Regional Sewer District have completed plans for a new wastewater treatment plant expansion. Funding will also be provided by a federal EDA grant. The first phase of the expansion will bring treatment capacity to 300,000 gallons per day (GPD), the second 600,000 gpd, and the final phase will bring capacity to 1,200,000 gpd.
This phased approach will allow the plant to grow at the same rate as the Nucor TIF and surrounding development areas. Design work has been completed by GAI Consultants.
